S8 Ep.3: Thomas to the Rescue

THESE ARE SOLEY MY OPINIONS AND NOT FROM THE THOMAS & FRIENDS FAN BASE

THOMAS TO THE RESCUE
Written by
Abi Grant & Paul Larson

Directed by
Steve Asquith

Air Date:
8/08/04

Plot:
Thomas was sent to the quarry to help out with an important order. However, Diesel was there as well and told Thomas that he was a stinky steamie and that the Fat Controller is scrapping steam engines. However, Diesel then learned that Thomas can be a useful engine even if he runs on steam.

PRO:
- Much more positive outreach about the rivalry between steam and diesel.

CON:
- Thomas should know that the Fat Controller would never scrap steam engines.

The episode is really decent and has a perfect moral about the steam vs. diesel rivalry unlike the Thomas series between S13 - 16. Despite that their are two motive kind of power on the Island, they know that they can work together to make the railway run smoothly. However, Thomas should have the clear common sense that the Fat Controller would never scrap steam engine, read 'Enterprising Engines' on the first page of the story 'Little Western'. So the episode is decent and it brings a great positive outreach of the steam vs. diesel rivalry.
