I quite enjoyed this episode, it was nice. I quite like the Christmassy feeling in this episode with its message about goodwill towards everyone and animals especially during the winter. There was a bit of the Fat Controller being a bit comedic, but it wasn't overdone unlike last year with him having the same idea as Henry about the Steamworks being the warmest place, so it gave me a chuckle and it wasn't a groan fest this season unlike the last because throughout most of the Sodor episodes, the Fat Controller was like his usual self and even with some of the comedic moments, it was more subtle. I also like the reference of Thomas being in India by remembering that an elephant can help shunt, it feels nice to make the season all one rather than two seperate things.

I like the human/engine interaction with Head Keeper Jack. It was quite strange that he was voiced by Kerry Shale, but I think it's a nice addition as it adds to the whole cultural diversity thing that the show is going with. Despite the fact that he had a UK voice back in the 17th season in the episode 'Steamie Stafford'. But I quite like Kerry Shale's acting here, he gave the head keeper a nice soft gentle voice.

Some people might say that this episode might work with Percy or Edward and while I can see that, I quite like it that it was Thomas. Despite being the cheeky engine that he can be a times, he does have a heart and it makes him a well-rounded character. I also liked in the ending with Thomas speaking to the audience that they've added an extra scene with James and the baby ostrich, it was quite cute. In the end, Lee Pressman did a great job at creating this episode. It was nice, sweet and lovely.
