Plot
Thomas misses his best friend, Percy, while working on the Chinese railway.

When I first saw this episode being showcased on the Wiki, I thought it was about Yong Bao missing Thomas. But I was more surprised that it was about Thomas missing Percy. It's good to see an episode like this to showcase to kids that Thomas does miss his friends whenever he's in another country. I think there should be a Sodor episode of the engines dealing with work without Thomas while he's away in China or Australia as it would be very interesting to see. 

As for the episode, I think it was a lovely episode and you can feel sad for Thomas for missing his friend. I see that as something very relatable to people when they move or are away to another country. I really love how the writers utilise the fantasy sequences, they added more purpose to the story. A bit like how Michael White does with the fantasy sequence in his stories. This is what I think 'Kangaroo Christmas' should've been, minus the postcard scene. Have Thomas miss Percy or any other of his friends because of these globe trotting adventures. 

I was also surprised by the scale down of the An An and Yin-Long's faces and to be honest I think it's a bit better as last season there faces were pretty big that it looks uncomfortable. Yeah there were references to other stories as well such as 'Thomas, Percy and The Dragon' and 'Tale of The Brave' and I think they'd added a bit of purpose to the story as they were memories of Percy from Thomas. I also like the boat race that was added and it weaved into the story well without it being forced or useless. In the end it was a lovely episode.
