Air Date

Plot
Thomas is so excited to show Annie and Clarabel's passengers the scenic views of Sodor. However, the power is out, and the outage causes problems all over the island.

MY VIEWS

'Everything that does need electricity is connected.' and so why would Percy and Kana help Thomas to get through when even the things that are connected are not working because a power outage? That includes signals and crossing gates. Plus Gordon says that he would postponing deliveries due to the power outage which is implying that running around on the railway in a power outage can be dangerous as well. I know the new show isn't focused on railway realisim but the writing should've been better with its continuity and yes if we'd done it logically then there would be no plot. This might come off as a nitpick but I just want to point it out.

Also while the episode was about not using electricity it was more about Thomas trying to take his passengers along the scenic route to Vicarstown which can work in different scenerios like why not have the whole railway be clogged up in traffic? And Thomas trying to find other ways to the scenic route. Maybe along the way he was trying to give the passengers something new along the way instead of the usual, maybe Annie and Clarabel can be quite fussy about the idea since they like the usual way or maybe a storm had blocked the usual way instead.

The electricity part of the story feels more like it was added in as a second thought.

I'll be taking a break from the first part of this season and would review the second part sometime in April. I need one after watching this part of a total mixed bag.

Plot
Percy really wants to go on a rollercoaster so his friends Thomas, Kana and Nia work together to make it happen.

MY VIEWS

I get that this episode was suppose to be about Percy getting over his fear of rollercoasters, like many kids who are afraid but why have that as a subject matter when you could do that for a human which makes more sense since Percy is a steam locomotive and also why does he have a fear of rollercoasters when he never got on it in the end. Also why would Percy be scared of a hill, a tunnel and Canonball curve when he had been to those places before? And why would Thomas suggest the loop-de-loop at Brendam Docks when there was one at the obstacle course earlier in the episode? It makes no sense!

If you ask me this would've been better if it were about Percy trying to get over his fear of the obstacle course that Thomas made in 'Rules of the Game'. We saw him fearing it so why not have the episode of him conquering his fear of it as well? It would be a much better episode than him getting over his fear of something that he'd never gone on at all in the episode.

Also the song, another unmemorable piece of, pardon my french here, utter crap to eat up time. Why have songs in some episodes when other episodes of the new show proves that they can work just fine without it?

This was another terrible episode. I can't believe there was another episode that is equal to 'Dragon Train' and this episode had more story than the former!

Air Date

Plot
When Thomas' #1 gets covered by paint, Diesel's comment about Thomas not being number one anymore causes him to doubt himself.

MY VIEWS

This was a nice episode with Thomas being more dependable with his friends and the scene with the Fat Controller telling Thomas why he was number one was heartwarming. You could feel some sympathy for Thomas with him trying to be number one as well. I think this episode might've worked well in the original series. I really have no other problem with the episode.
