S13 Ep. 17: Snow Tracks

THESE ARE SOLEY MY OWN OPINIONS AND NOT FROM THE THOMAS & FRIENDS FAN BASE

SNOW TRACKS
Written by Alan Hescott
Directed by Greg Tiernan
Produced by Nicole Stinn

Air Date (UK)
16/2/10

Plot:
A snowstorm has covered Sodor and Thomas and Gordon are given important jobs. While doing his job, Gordon decides to take the shorter, hilly route because he thinks he is special and stronger.

PRO:
- At least they kept the traditional sense of Thomas not wanting to wear his snowplough

- It's great to see Gordon with a snowplough, we haven't seen him wear one since Season 9's 'Keeping Up With James'.

- Gordon's face covered by snow was funny

CON:
- There is no 'Long way round' to Brendam Docks and plus its on Edward's branch line, so he is not strong enough to go on their anyway. There are more harbours like Knapford harbour and Dryaw harbour on Thomas' branch line.

- This episode is repetitive

- Spencer's private carriage is just small, almost fitting for a Trackmaster toy.

- How many hills are there?

- Gordon would've been derailed when he crashed into the slate trucks

- How on earth did Gordon create a giant snowball? It's highly unlikely that it will ever happen

- How did Thomas get lifted by the giant snowball, wouldn't he just be snowed under?

This episode is just unrealistic. But first, I just hate how the writer say that Brendam docks is at some random location when really it is on Edward's branch line and that line is to weak to hold Gordon's weight as well as Thomas' branch line. The episode is repetitive with Gordon saying 'Snow is too soft for me I'm fastest and the best', I just see this as filler so they can fit it in with the time limit and that goes to the episodes in the past with pointless rhyming and repetitive scenes that can make children bored. However I do have three positives, as of course I do like it how the new writers actually know that Thomas doesn't like wearing his snowplough due to it being cumbersome and it was actually great seeing Gordon with a snowplough since he wear it in 'Keeping Up With James'.

So despite the flaws, this episode didn't go well too much, but hey anything is better then 'Thomas' Frosty Friend' from Season 10 and the horrible 'Splish, Splash Splosh'.

Rating: 3/5
