Plot
Thomas and Percy were trying to put Gordon to sleep
I was betting on that this might be a charming episode but this felt more boring, obnoxious and a little over stimulating rather than charming and while I understand Thomas and Percy help and mess is suppose to make them learn but why not have the episode be like 'A Shed For Edward' from S21 where maybe Gordon was resting in the shed where Thomas and the other sleep after returning from a late night delivery and Thomas and Percy were chatting away while Gordon was trying to rest and went off to find another place to rest to get away and have some peace only to realise they were noisy and all and then learns to appreciate their help but hope that they can respect his personal space. Sure it would be a rehash but the show is its own canon so they can get away with since it has no connection with the original show.
It just felt so boring with Thomas and Percy going back and forth like what you would see in a typical S13-16 script from the Miller/Barlow era of the show with the three strikes formula but unlike those episodes, they are still crap by the way, they at least keep it gentle, calm and less simulating whereas this episode's stuff ups for Thomas and Percy feel so obnoxious, loud and a bit over stimulating. You think with a show that has a character who represent kids who are autistic might want to make this show a bit relaxing for them?!
Such a shame because the idea of Thomas and Percy helping Gordon to sleep sounds cute and charming. Also the two engines chasing the sheep just feels useless all because they wanted to make the red light, green light game that Thomas and Percy were playing earlier feel important for some reason when you could just delete it and replace it with another boring scene of the sheep going back and forth putting Gordon to sleep to fill in time. May not be great but hey it feels less useless unlike the song that was in the episode.
'A Shed for Edward' that I'd mentioned earlier did a much better job at the concept of an engine trying to get some sleep.
