Plot
When Ashima is set to arrive on Sodor, Thomas and his friends attempt to go the extra mile in order to make the island seem fantastic, but when the spectacular plan gets ruined at every turn, the friends imperfect welcome still makes Ashima's arrival extra special.
This episode almost feels like 'Something to Remember' but instead of finding a crystal for a keepsake it was more to do of trying to welcome someone on Sodor instead. Plus the amount of ignorance from the engines in trying to get a party in order particuarly from the likes of Kana who last episode made a whole message that she knows when to work smart and yet crosses a rickety track ending up spilling the paint. I get it that it was done to give conflict to the story but it also needed some consistency which the show had with its mention of past events in the AEG canon. While the episode was building up to the song with Nia's love for dancing I still feel the songs were pointless and that you can have the engines dancing without the needs of it. Anyway, all in all the episode just feels like a retread of Yong Bao's farewell episode with a very predictable outcome which Ashima coming to see the engines and it just feels unoriginal. Though I will say the show did correctly pronounce Ashima's name.
