THESE ARE SOLEY MY OWN OPINONS AND NOT FROM THE THOMAS & FRIENDS FAN BASE

NO JOKE FOR JAMES
Written by

Air Date:
26/10/91

Plot:
James told Gordon that the Fat Controller has plans for him, but Gordon believes him. As Thomas was shunting coaches in the yard ready for Gordon's express, James told him that he was to take the express instead of the trucks. Gordon was cross that Thomas showed him trucks and the Fat Controller was cross. James shunted trucks at the harbour until a smartly dressed man came to see him, who is a railway inspector and is in need to see the Fat Controller. James arrived at the big station on time and the inspector was very pleased and so was the Fat Controller.

PRO:
- Great to see Jeremiah Jobling again, this time as a railway inspector.

CON:
- Why would Gordon and Thomas believe James from his 'plans'?
- James' crew would need more common sense.

Although it's not bad as the last episode, but there are a few flaws. Like why would Gordon and Thomas believe James' lie? They should've been wise enough for it now. With James' joke, his crew should've got more common sense into stopping it. But the one positive side towards this episode is the return of Jeremiah Jobling, this time as a railway inspector, if you want to know who he is, watch 'James and The Coaches' from the first season and you'll see him as the bootlace passenger. The episode overall is OK, it has flaws, but it's OK.
